Ali Mearza FRCOphth is a co-founder and director at OCL Vision.
He is also a Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at London's Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the UK's first Academic Health Sciences Centre.
He was the clinical director of ophthalmology at Imperial for 5 years from 2016 - 2021 and led the transition to paperless records, oversaw the appointment of 10 additional consultants and guided the department through the Covid global pandemic amongst his many achievements.
His subspecialty interests are cornea, cataract and laser eye surgery. As well as treating eye disease, he specializes in reducing dependency on glasses and contact lenses.
His work has been featured on the Discovery Channel, E4, Channel 5 and in National Newspapers.
His You Tube Channel includes some of the techniques he performs and some of the experiences he's been lucky to have.

Why would you need a stitch there?
The patient had recent surgery (corneal transplant)
I had lasik in 2012 and was immediately amazed by the results. The clinic was on the corner of the block I worked on and, after coming outside, I really began to appreciate the Victorian architecture and 1st floor street sign I had never seen before. I strongly recommend the procedure to anyone. The only side effect I had was dry eyes and this was completely gone within 12 months.
